Ministries Gather to Pack 30,000 Meals
On April 29, Peace Ministries held its third annual ministry-wide service project in collaboration with the Holy Name Foundation and Haiti Health Promise, both of which provide support to Hôpital Sacré Coeur and much-needed food assistance to the people of Milot, Haiti.
Ministry leaders and staff gathered at the School of Nursing in Englewood Cliffs to pack 30,000 meals to support families in the region. This year’s food packathon was dedicated to the memory of Sister Ann Crawley and all the sisters and associates who passed away in the last year. Sister Ann left a legacy in Milot, where she cared deeply for the Haitian people and worked tirelessly to improve their quality of life. She not only helped build more than 500 homes but she also inspired the food packathons. Sister Ann saw how hungry the people were and requested meals be sent rather than clothes and toys.
In the nine years since the packathons began, nearly 3.5 million meals have been packed and distributed in Milot. Peace Ministries and its family of ministries are proud to contribute to that achievement.
